Capital University 2024 Band Festival

November 15 - 16: High School Honor Band
Entering its 23rd year, the Capital University Band Festival is a multi-faceted event designed to provide students the opportunity to work with internationally recognized composers and conductors. The festival is held annually on the beautiful Capital University campus and past guests have included Frank Ticheli, Steven Bryant, John Mackey, Michael Markowski, Craig Kirchhoff, Paula Crider, and Ray Cramer.
The Capital University Band Festival Band Director Workshop is open to all high school musicians from 9th-12th grade.

- Dr. Marcellus Brown, Former Director of Bands, Boise State University, and currently serves as Visiting Professor of Music of Bands at Indiana University
- Dr. William L. Lake, Jr., Director of Concert Bands, George Mason University
- Mr. Katahj Copley, Composer and Arranger
- Ms. Jessica Sneeringer, Director of Bands, Columbus Academy
- Mrs. Susan O’ Rourke, Associate Director of Bands, Columbus Academy

Student highlights include:
- Participate in one of three outstanding honor bands
- Participate in masterclasses led by Capital Conservatory faculty and alumni
- Attend performances by Conservatory performing groups

2024 Band Festival Registration Fee: *REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED*
Each student invited to the 2024 Band Festival must pay a $100 participation fee in order to complete their registration.
For the fee, we encourage you to pay with a debit or credit card, but if you would like to pay by check, please contact Celina Emerson at cemerson7@capital.edu
